SUMMARY

 

Responsible for granulating side-trim, set-up, or off-quality material

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Places side trim material into a Gaylord or other container

• Moves material by forklift, or hand, to granulator and feed material into it

• Removes granulated material to staging area or dump into another container

• Stacks cut sheet material onto pallet as produced; or

• Prepares roll for doffing (removal) such as wrapping roll, etc

• With the assistance of the Operator, prepares the empty tube for placement on the machine

• Assists the Operator in the removal, cleanout, and reattaching the die to machine

• Assists the Operator in the setup of machine

• Maintains a clean work area around machine

• Assists in the palletizing of material (strapping, etc.) to specifications

• Perform on-the-job training to new employees

• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

• High School diploma or GED Equivalent

• Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.

• Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, carry, push, pull, reach, and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Hearing and vision required to be within normal ranges. Read at, above, and below shoulder height. Sufficient manual dexterity required to operate equipment. Ability to communicate orally in a clear, concise and effective manner with the co-workers, company representatives, management, and staff in face-to-face, one-on-one and group settings. Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
