General Role Description:

Create and deliver assigned engineering and related technical training and development programs over a rolling 9 – 12-month time horizon

Role Accountabilities:

– Develop technical courses and programs in multiple formats to meet the company’s skill set requirements and client commitments.

– Plan, prepare, and conduct assigned engineering and related technical training and development programs for employees, clients, and service providers at Company facilities

– Develop generic training materials for onsite training use or customization by others.

– Ensure the course material and equipment are prepared and available before the course.

– Recommend new and improved content, courses, programs, and curricula for technical training and development based on the Company’s current and future products, tools, technology, and enhancements.

– Identify and recommend training equipment and facility requirements to meet current and future Company needs

– Continuously monitor and investigate new and emerging Company products, tools, technology, and enhancements via consultation with other business and functional units

– Acquire technical knowledge and skills needed to develop and conduct training on identified topics via site and factory visits, contribution to project engineering and commissioning as a team member, and other methods as necessary

– Provide input for the development of the annual client training schedule and ensure the schedule is met and/or revised as necessary

– Provide technical information and support appropriate personnel for the development of technical training modules

– Feedback product and service recommendations from clients and group company engineers to the business unit, development, and customer support engineering team management

– Provide subject matter expertise and course development services for group companies as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

– BS in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering; or related physical or applied science; or equivalent via education and/or work experience

– 2 years’ experience in designing, troubleshooting, or commissioning utility-scale solar inverters

– Demonstrated extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in utility-scale solar inverters

– Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally prepare, organize, and conduct technical training programs

– Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices associated with electrical power conversion equipment or industrial control systems.

– Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts

– Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills

– Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility

– Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows

– Availability to travel, domestically, less than 10%, and internationally, rarely, sometimes with limited notice

Preferred Qualifications:

– 2 years’ experience in the metals, material handling, paper, renewable energy, or general industries businesses

– Demonstrated knowledge of the technical fundamentals of variable speed DC drives and motors

– Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in power systems and harmonics

– Demonstrated experience creating online technical training modules

– Demonstrated experience working with international clients

– Demonstrated proficiency in technical report writing
