Level 1 Reman Operator is an entry level manufacturing position. Operator’s process previously used automotive valve bodies, separator plates and/or solenoids. Operators disassemble, clean, evaluate components for reuse, and perform other reclamation processes on components for use in remanufacturing. This position works in a cooperative and team based manufacturing environment consisting of both individual work stations and in-line manufacturing cells.


Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:


•    Safety

•    Quality

o    Follow all applicable work instructions, process documentation and quality procedures.

o    Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.

o    Perform visual and quantifiable inspection of the result of their process.

o    Identify and controls non-conforming material.

o    Evaluate component quality utilizing vacuum checks and other measurements in accordance with documented standard work procedures;

o    Maintain a FTPY of 80% or more.

o    Achieves production goals.  Operators must remain flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals.

o    Understand Testing process and pass/fail criteria.  Test valve bodies and solenoids with supervision.

o    Remanufacturing Operators I work in each production station following scheduled rotation: 

Disassembly: Use manual and powered hand tools to disassemble valve bodies or solenoid cores which includes removal of screws, rings, seals, valves, etc. After removing the parts they will be loading the various parts in a basket prepping them to be washed. 

Cleaning: Operate sand blasting machine, solvent washing machines, and simple ultra-sonic cleaning machines in order to remove chemicals and debris from solenoids and valve body cores.

Inspect/Parts Preparation:  Inspect all parts for damage and recover the ones needed for assembly, this station includes sanding plates as well as basic reaming.  May use grinder if required.

Final Wash:  Safely operates crest machine in order to perform the final wash in valve body sections.


o    Operate demagnetizer, vacuum testing; tools, SOL-X 2000 and VBT4000 solenoid testing machine;

o    Operates ovens, washers, and other disassembly/cleaning equipment.

o    Air test

o    Soldering

o    Understand and utilize the bin replenishment system to maintain supply of non-inventory solenoids;

o    Communicates within the assigned team and with all support teams.
