Reports to:     Maintenance Lead


Summary:      Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in industrial establishments by performing the following duties.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS OVERVIEW:


  • Provides maintenance support for plant-wide quality production including maintaining proper records for work orders, fulfilling verbal and written requests and maintaining other associated production/maintenance paperwork
  • Interacts with Plant Engineer on special projects
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts as well as cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Utilize efficient and effective use of equipment and tool resources to minimize waste, downtime and unit costs
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as programmable controllers.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, and tools.
  • Ability to make simple welds on equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.


Requirements:


  • AS degree in Industrial Maintenance or like education with 3-5 years of experience or a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with 5-7 years of work experience.
  • Experience in gravure printing facility highly desirable.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Physical Demands:


  • This position requires prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.
  • Frequent lifting in excess of 75 lbs is required.
  • Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required.
  • Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as well as good eye-hand coordination.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts.
  • Must be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
  • Must be able to work in repetitive functions as well as other duties as required.
