The Safety Manager will lead all health, safety, and environmental initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and foster a proactive safety culture across JoyAlways operations. This role is critical for minimizing workplace hazards, managing risk, and ensuring the well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
Risk Assessment & Audits: Conduct regular inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance audits; recommend corrective actions and track progress.
Training & Development: Design and deliver safety training programs, including emergency response, PPE usage, and job-specific safety protocols.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of accidents, near-misses, and safety violations; prepare detailed reports and implement preventive measures.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety laws; maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and coordinate emergency response plans and drills for fire, chemical spills, and other critical incidents.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze safety performance metrics, identify trends, and drive initiatives to reduce incidents and improve safety culture.
Collaboration: Partner with operations, HR, and leadership teams to integrate safety into all business processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in safety management within manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and other applicable safety laws.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in safety management systems and incident reporting tools.
Preferred certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP, or equivalent.
Preferred Skills
Experience with ISO 45001 or similar safety management frameworks.
Ability to lead safety committees and influence organizational culture.
Familiarity with ergonomics and industrial hygiene practices.
