The Janitorial Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within a commercial greenhouse specializing in tomato production. This role supports plant health, food safety standards, and overall operational efficiency by ensuring all greenhouse, facility, and temporary structures are properly cleaned, sanitized, and organized.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize greenhouse floors, walkways, aisles, and common work areas to prevent contamination and maintain food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness of temporary facilities, including seasonal structures, portable buildings, and temporary work areas
Perform routine cleaning of restrooms, break rooms, offices, locker rooms, and temporary employee facilities
Safely handle and dispose of plant debris, organic waste, and general trash in accordance with environmental and safety guidelines
Clean and disinfect tools, carts, bins, and equipment used in greenhouse operations
Refill and maintain sanitation supplies such as soaps, disinfectants, paper products, and PPE
Follow established sanitation schedules and documented cleaning procedures
Comply with all greenhouse hygiene, biosecurity, and safety protocols
Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to management
Maintain accurate cleaning logs and documentation when required
