Job Description: Pick/Put Associate – Automation Department

Job Summary:
Seeking a highly motivated and autonomous Pick/Put Associate to join our innovative Automation Department at our Eden, North Carolina facility. In this critical role, you will work hand-in-hand with cutting-edge robotic systems that efficiently move rolling modular shelving units throughout our warehouse. Your primary responsibilities will include the accurate placement and retrieval of merchandise, as well as ensuring the optimal performance and cleanliness of our automated fleet, particularly their navigation-critical LIDAR sensors. This position requires an individual who thrives in an independent work environment with minimal supervision and a strong commitment to maintaining operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Operate and interact with automated robotic systems designed to transport rolling modular shelving units.
Accurately pick and put merchandise onto or from designated shelving locations and hold areas as directed by the warehouse management system.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of robotic units, with specific attention to LIDAR sensors, to ensure uninterrupted navigation and operational efficiency.
Monitor robot performance and report any anomalies or issues to the Automation Department leadership.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures related to warehouse operations and robotic interaction.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate smooth robotic movement and overall warehouse flow.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve operational challenges.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the Automation Department.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred but not required.
Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal direct supervision.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in merchandise handling.
Basic understanding of technology and a willingness to learn about automated systems.
Ability to follow instructions meticulously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
Manual dexterity required for handling small parts and operating cleaning tools.
