Position Overview:
To operate grinders to grind bottles and preforms. Ensures product entering regrind system is free of contamination. Operate/setup resin room equipment such as blenders, vacuum pumps and resin lines ensuring that all equipment is running as intended.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Audit resin lines to ensure the room configuration sheet is accurate
2. Access and utilize reports to identify available scrap in the warehouse
3. Accurately:
o Calculates material usage to determine resin pumping plan
o Changes blending percentages on blenders and labels materials once ground
o Processes materials according to labels
o Consumes product tickets and correctly completes daily paperwork
o Identifies and separates scrap into correct resin types
4. Load and dump grindables
5. Cleans systems as needed, to include de-dust system, grinder, etc
6. Clears plugged resin lines and contains materials in correct locations
7. Properly unloads railcars and bulk trucks following established procedures
8. Drains ground materials into Super-Sacks
9. Safely and efficiently operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists
10. Abides by all Amcor Safety and Quality policies and procedures and assures inventory reporting compliance for audit requirements.
11. Maintains a clean work area and performs general housekeeping duties.
12. Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor “No Injuries Safety Contract” and as trained. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers, Supervisors and Management. Properly uses all required personal protective equipment.
Education and Experience
a. Requires high school diploma or equivalent
b. Two or more years of employment showing steady work history. Previous experience in manufacturing desired.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers as well as the ability to recognize and understand numbers, values, and enters this information into an on-line database accurately.
• Ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual differences.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English in order to communicate with co-workers, read work instructions and job procedures, and document job activities.
• Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.
• Ability to demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to be awarded a forklift certification by Amcor Rigid Plastics if needed.
• Ability to work all shifts, holidays, and required overtime as needed.
• Must have prior maintenance experience or have exhibited a higher level of mechanical competence.
• Must maintain a fast pace through the working day and work on multiple tasks
• Ability to lead self and initiate communication with the warehouse, lead and supervisor
