Job Title: Injection Molding Machine Operator
Position Overview:
This role is responsible for operating injection molding equipment and ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of plastic components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of injection manufacturing processes and be capable of performing mechanical adjustments and quality checks to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate injection molding machinery to maintain production targets and quality standards.
Perform machine adjustments during start-ups to ensure consistent operation and product specifications (e.g., height, volume, weight, visual appearance).
Conduct quality assurance tests using standard measuring tools and input data into the quality system. Authority to halt production for quality concerns.
Execute proper start-up and shutdown procedures to minimize downtime and protect equipment.
Maintain safe and effective operation of all related production machinery.
Continuously seek to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime.
Participate in training sessions focused on quality and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Recommend and perform repairs, modifications, and improvements to equipment.
Available for overtime and vacation coverage as needed.
Perform systems room checks and operate forklifts when required.
Carry out other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
Effective English communication skills—written and verbal.
Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
Willingness to accept role changes or additional duties as needed.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-speed manufacturing setting.
No travel required.
