Job Title: Injection Molding Machine Operator

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for operating injection molding equipment and ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of plastic components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of injection manufacturing processes and be capable of performing mechanical adjustments and quality checks to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate injection molding machinery to maintain production targets and quality standards.

  • Perform machine adjustments during start-ups to ensure consistent operation and product specifications (e.g., height, volume, weight, visual appearance).

  • Conduct quality assurance tests using standard measuring tools and input data into the quality system. Authority to halt production for quality concerns.

  • Execute proper start-up and shutdown procedures to minimize downtime and protect equipment.

  • Maintain safe and effective operation of all related production machinery.

  • Continuously seek to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime.

  • Participate in training sessions focused on quality and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Recommend and perform repairs, modifications, and improvements to equipment.

  • Available for overtime and vacation coverage as needed.

  • Perform systems room checks and operate forklifts when required.

  • Carry out other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and controls.

  • Effective English communication skills—written and verbal.

  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.

  • Willingness to accept role changes or additional duties as needed.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-speed manufacturing setting.

  • No travel required.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Normal and near vision

  • Active listening and verbal communication

  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and pushing/pulling

  • Able to lift and carry items under 50 pounds

  • Occasional forklift operation

  • Manufacturing plant environment—must be comfortable working around machinery and within a fast-paced setting
