Job Title: Printing Assistant, Material Handling / Light Maintenance
Printer Assistant:
• Assist in the direct-to-fabric printing department (DTF), treating fabric for printing, steaming, washing, and drying printed fabrics.
• Learn to operate the various machines required for the printing process, including but not limited to coater/dryer, steam finisher, fabric rewinder, fabric washer, direct-to-fabric printer, treatment chemical mixers/measuring devices, tablets, and computers.
• Assist in receiving rolls of fabric and shipping printed fabrics to customers.
Material Handling/Maintenance:
• Maintain facility and manufacturing equipment by maintenance such as but not limited to cleaning and lubricating machines, changing belts, light bulbs, and machine parts, assembling new equipment, and dismantling used equipment for disposal.
• Housekeeping duties such as but not limited to emptying trash cans to external container, recycling cardboard, bottles, and cans, etc., and keeping areas swept, as required.
• Assisting in delivery of products and movement of products to proper storage locations for storage/use.
Responsibilities:
• Inspect products being processed while looking for flaws.
• Process and complete paperwork, as required.
• Must have the ability to identify flaws/variations in different patterns/color identification.
• Must be able to handle all materials made of but not limited to cotton, silk, viscose, wool, nylon, etc.
• Must be able to handle acid/reactive ink sets, and pretreatment following proper guidelines.
• Must be able to handle up to 50lbs alone and 100lbs with assistance.
• Must be able to stand, twist/turn, stoop/bend, push/pull, squat, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to use measuring devices, tape measures, measuring cups and understand fluid ounces/milliliters and pounds/grams conversions.
• Must be able to use electric and hand cutting equipment.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools to perform maintenance and treatment mixing responsibilities.
• Must be able to use material handling equipment such as, but not limited to pallet jacks, hand trucks, banding equipment, etc.
• Must be able to use a ladder.
• Must be able to interact with coworkers in a positive and cooperative manner.
• Must keep work areas clean, neat, and organized.
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
