SUMMARY
Performs timely and cost-effective procurement of parts and materials to support operations. Identifies and evaluates prospective suppliers for the most cost effective and highest quality materials. Issues purchase orders, ensures timely delivery of materials, and maintains records in MRP system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Researches and identifies new suppliers.
• Purchases parts and materials required for daily operations including component parts, job supplies, office supplies, etc.
• Provides outsourcing/replacement support for goods and services.
• Requests provider quotes and selects best qualified bid.
• Issues purchase orders and supplements in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Negotiates and issues blanket/open purchase orders for repetitive-type requirements.
• Monitors shipments to ensure timely delivery of product to internal customers.
• Provides immediate notification to internal customers of any changes in supplier delivery commitments.
• Initiatives corrective action when necessary with suppliers and monitors resolution.
• Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of cost calculation and projects.
• Maintains and reviews MRP system to prevent stock shortages and outages.
• Maintains vendor account information in MRP system to ensure accuracy.
• Generates purchase orders and manages activity within establish budget parameters.
• Purchases chemicals and maintains corresponding SDS documentation.
• Supports calibration program by sending devices out for calibration.
• Performs other duties as directed by leadership.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience required.
• Secondary education, such as an AAS degree or program certification such as business, purchasing or logistics, or related corporate training or professional certification helpful.
• Must have intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Previous experience with a database preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
• Excellent organizational, time management and follow up skills required.
• Ability to accurately enter and track information with continuous changing data and competing priorities.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers and vendors.
• Intermediate working knowledge of standard procurement procedures.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with both technical and non-technical partners/staff.
• Ability to apply and communicate supplier contractual agreements and escalate to management as required.
• Ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and effectively to all levels within the company and with external partners/vendors.
