Shipping / Receiving Clerk manages inbound / outbound logistics, ensuring finished products are accurately packed, documented, and shipped on time. They verify incoming / outgoing orders, generate shipping documents (bills of lading), update inventory systems, and coordinate with carriers. This role requires high attention to detail, computer proficiency, and physical handling of goods.
Key Responsibilities
• Receiving: Receives finished goods produced by the production department and/or packages shipped in from outside vendors, ensuring products adhere to company standards. Counting product & Labeling for inventory storage according to company standards.
• Order Processing: Preparing, picking, packaging, and labeling orders according to company standards for shipment.
• Documentation: Generating shipping / receiving documents, packing lists, and bills of lading, ensuring accuracy in weight, count, and destination.
• Carrier Coordination: Scheduling pickups and communicating with freight carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Inventory Tracking: Updating inventory systems to reflect shipped items and managing back orders.
• Quality Control: Inspecting incoming / outgoing products for damage and verifying production order accuracy adhering to company standards.
• Safety Compliance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to safety protocols, particularly with hazardous materials or machinery.
• All other tasks as determined by supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous verification of orders to prevent shipping errors.
• Technology Skills: Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and email. Must understand and be able to operate Personal Computers, iPad, Barcode Scanners, Personal Printers including Thermal Label Printers.
• Communication: Effective communication with internal production teams and external carriers.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items – up to 50lbs alone and 100lbs with assistance – and stand twist/turn, stoop/bend, push/pull, squat, and kneel for extended periods, with experience in operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, & “forklifts helpful”. You must be able to use a ladder.
• Must keep work areas clean, neat, and organized.
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

• The work is fast paced, often involving tight deadlines and occasional, intense, high-volume shipping / receiving periods.
