POSITION: Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


The CFO is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for helping to safeguard hospital assets and ensure that financial statements, including books and records, are prepared and maintained following GAAP.

Hospital Description:

Northern Regional Hospital (NRH) is headquartered in Mount Airy, NC, and is located in the beautiful foothills of northwestern NC. NRH is an award-winning 133-bed acute and long-term hospital with 1,000 employees including 50 primary and specialty care providers within the NRH Network. NRH is also half-owner of Mountain Valley Hospice which has a daily census of 650 patients with 325 staff. Within the past year, NRH has been selected as a “Best Place To Work” by the Triad Business Journal, “Top 100” Community Hospital by Becker’s, a CMS “5 Star” hospital, “Top 10 percentile” hospital in overall patient satisfaction, and received the prestigious “Pinnacle Award” by the NC State Community College System.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to lead multiple departments (in and outside finance) and maintain an excellent working relationship with multiple other stakeholders. Strong in hospital and physician network operations.

• Expertise with financial modeling and cash flow projections, business plans and proformas, cost reports/external audits, managed care negotiations, operational assessments, budgeting, cost accounting, and revenue cycle operations.

• Exceptional knowledge of the healthcare industry with meaningful experience with third-party payors, regulatory agencies, banking, external auditors, treasury and tax services, subject matter consultants, etc.

• Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills critical to in-house stakeholders and others such as lenders, rating agencies, government staff, trade associations, etc.

• Serves as an outstanding mentor and coach and has a reputation for helping others grow and succeed personally and professionally.

Qualifications:

10+ years of progressive leadership experience with at least 5 years in healthcare, preferably has earned a CPA certificate and Master`s degree and enjoys a track record of professional success.
