Summary
The Senior HR Manager plays a strategic and hands-on role in shaping the company’s human resources initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This position oversees the full spectrum of HR functions, including organizational development, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, community engagement, and compliance. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and champion the company’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation and Benefits:
- Design, implement, and maintain competitive compensation structures, including pay grades, and bonuses, ensuring compliance with wage and hour regulations.
- Oversee the development and administration of employee benefit programs, including medical insurance, 401(k) plans, and more, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
- Lead company-wide recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent.
- Develop partnerships with local high schools and colleges to create internship programs, apprenticeships, and career awareness events.
- Collaborate with leadership to create and deliver training and development programs that strengthen employee skills and engagement.
Organizational Development:
- Develop and implement organizational goals and strategic workforce plans.
- Partner with department leaders to create and maintain comprehensive job descriptions that support recruitment, training, development, and equitable compensation.
Onboarding and Training:
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires are equipped for success.
- Develop and deliver effective training programs to support employee growth and leadership development.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to resolve employee concerns and conflicts, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Conduct investigations and manage conflict resolution to uphold fairness and compliance.
Performance Management:
- Design and administer a robust performance management system to drive accountability, development, and alignment with organizational objectives.
HR Systems and Compliance:
- Manage the selection, implementation, and administration of HR information systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and employment laws.
Community and Employee Engagement:
- Plan and oversee employee engagement events, including recognition programs, volunteer activities, and service awards.
- Represent the company at community and industry events to build strong external relationships.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and oversee the effectiveness of company health and safety programs.
HR Policies and Legal Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures that align with best practices and legal requirements.
- Stay informed of changes in employment law and provide guidance to the organization accordingly.
Leadership Development and Coaching:
- Provide training and coaching to managers and leaders on HR-related topics such as performance management, communication, and employee engagement.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Establish and monitor HR-related KPIs to measure the effectiveness of HR strategies and their alignment with company goals.
Education and Experience
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is required.
Certifications:
- Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are strongly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in human resources, with a focus on manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in organizational development, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, and performance management.
- Proven track record of leading strategic HR initiatives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with manufacturing-specific HR challenges, including workforce planning, shift scheduling, and safety compliance.
- Experience in designing and implementing HR policies and programs that align with business and operational objectives.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with the ability to create advanced reports, presentations, and data analysis.
- Strong project management skills with experience implementing HRIS or other HR technology platforms.
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance in manufacturing settings.
