Purpose of Job:
Ensure that every creel is filled with the proper yarn to support smooth knitting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Yarn Handling and Creeling:
- Creel the proper yarn according to knitting cards and tie them securely.
- Remove old yarn from the creel in the event of a yarn change.
Material Organization:
- Ensure that cardboard and pallets are kept out of the buffer yarn area.
Housekeeping and Safety:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area around the machines.
- Adhere to good housekeeping practices to reduce hazards.
Machine Assistance:
- Assist knitters in keeping the machines operational and running efficiently.
Machine Coverage:
- Manage and maintain between 10 and 13 knitting machines assigned to you.
Specific Environmental Conditions:
- Exposure to a certain level of dust, lint, and oil mist in the air.
- Medium noise levels in the work environment.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must not be color blind (to differentiate yarns as required).
- Ability to read and understand English for job instructions and safety requirements.
