As an Inspection Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production process. Your responsibilities will include machine operation, fabric handling, inspection, and documentation. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean and safe workspace while ensuring that all materials meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment
- Ensure the area around the machine is clean and safe to work in at all times.
Material Handling and Preparation
- Pin in full A-frames after the material handler delivers materials to the frame.
- Verify that the ticket pattern and fabric pattern match by using reference swatches.
- Set the specified roll length accurately for metering devices.
Fabric Inspection and Processing
- Attach the fabric to a cardboard core using tape, ensuring it spans the full width of the fabric.
- Inspect the fabric as it is rolled onto the cardboard core to ensure it meets the specified length.
- Monitor the exact width of the fabric and record measurements in SAP.
Defect Identification and Documentation
- Flag any defects in the fabric and accurately record them in SAP.
- Remove sewn seams and pattern/ticket changes, creating a two-part piece for further processing.
Wrapping and Packaging
- Wrap finished pieces with plastic wrap to ensure proper protection.
- Wire tie both ends of the plastic wrap to secure the fabric.
Data Recording and Labeling
- Record required data in SAP, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Properly identify the pieces with printed labels at the end of each roll.
Sample Handling and Delivery
- Deliver inspected samples to the sample room as required.
Frame Maintenance
- Clean the frames thoroughly at least once per week at the end of your shift.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and ensure production goals are met.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Basic experience with SAP or similar systems is preferred.
- Physical ability to handle and move materials.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
