  • Compensation: $75,000-85,000/annual; if you have been both client facing and on the design side of engineering, there is additional earning potential associated with this role

  • Location: The role is based in Mt Airy, NC, but can be worked remotely during non-travel times. On-site collaboration and client facing meetings will be a large requirement of this role. Expect 50%+ travel for this role.

3) Your Strengths

  • Designing custom industrial control panels from the ground up, aligned to customer requirements and UL 508A standards
  • Acting as the technical bridge between the organization and its customers; meeting with clients, clarifying scope, and translating needs into build-ready designs
  • Collaborating closely with the panel shop, purchasing, field service, and customer service teams to ensure designs are buildable and executed correctly
  • Creating schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and full project submittal packages
  • Developing and modifying PLC and HMI programs to support mechanical and process automation
  • Supporting installations, troubleshooting, validation, and start-ups at customer sites (travel up to ~50%)
  • Participating in engineering change orders (ECOs) and help manage multiple projects simultaneously

6) Background Profile

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in industrial controls engineering, specifically control panel design in a manufacturing or system integration environment
  • Proven experience designing panels to UL 508A standards (strongly preferred)
  • PLC/HMI programming experience; familiarity with VFDs and industrial automation components
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical schematics and layouts
  • Comfortable meeting with customers, asking the right questions, and presenting technical solutions
  • AAS or BS in Engineering preferred, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects
  • A builder’s mindset: detail-oriented, accountable, and motivated by delivering quality solutions
