Job Title Machine Operator Shift: 2nd Shift 3pm-11pm Monday to Friday. Summary The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing machinery within the plant. Key duties include machine operation, monitoring the processes, materials, and quality, inspecting equipment, basic troubleshooting, adjusting settings, and record keeping. Job Duties • Set-up, operate, and run manufacturing machinery based on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs). • Make necessary machine adjustments to optimize performance and meet production specifications. • Perform basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and minor repairs to prevent machine downtime. • Load raw materials into machines and unload finished products. • Operate sealing equipment as needed. • Weigh, document, and discard scrap generated from equipment. • Input and record data into various operating systems. • Maintain production level to standard. • Follow all quality guidelines in the performing of job function. • Inspect product and identify defects and/or contamination. • Train new associates in all aspects of the job when necessary. • Collaborate with supervisors and other necessary team members to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. • Work in other areas and departments as requested. • Adherence to all regulatory and company safety rules, procedures, and policies; including PPE requirements. • Maintain a clean and safe workspace. Must follow contamination-control cleaning guidelines. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Experience and Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required. • At least 6-12 months of manufacturing experience and/or training is required. • Basic computer skills with ability to find, read, and locate documents as needed. • Intermediate English comprehension skills with the ability to speak, read, and write in the language with minimal difficulty. • Basic math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read and use a ruler. • Must be detail-orientated, highly accurate, and dependable. • Must be able to accurately convey information about machine performance, production progress, and any other issues encountered.
