Job Title: Robotic Weld Fixture Technician


Client Profile

Our client is seeking a hands-on technician to support robotic welding operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving mechanical problems, working closely with engineering and production teams, and ensuring fixtures are safe, accurate, and ready to keep production moving.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely change and set up weld fixtures in robotic weld cells using approved lifting equipment and strict lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, complete first-part setups, and verify parts meet engineering specifications.
  • Observe production fixtures in operation to identify malfunctions, misalignment, wear, and adjustment needs.
  • Disassemble, clean, adjust, repair, replace, or fabricate worn fixture and tooling components using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine shop equipment.
  • Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering on fixture updates, testing, repairs, and practical design improvements.
  • Document fixture changes and repairs, then requalify equipment to confirm conformance with engineering requirements.
  • Maintain organized fixture storage locations and accurate inventory of replaceable tooling components, including identifying and ordering needed parts.
  • Communicate effectively with production personnel to resolve fixture concerns and reduce avoidable downtime.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of practical experience with robotics or automation and weld fixture repair and maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a practical understanding of industrial equipment, automated processes, and controls.
  • Ability to interpret technical and engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience safely using trade tools such as multimeters, lockout devices, hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of part identification, ordering processes, and inventory controls.
  • Basic machine shop experience and familiarity with industrial robotic systems are preferred.
  • A background in welding, electrical systems, pneumatics, PLC concepts, or controls is a plus. Welding certification is also preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and the ability to communicate effectively with engineering and production teams.
  • Fluent English reading and writing skills are required. Spanish language skills are a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift more than 45 pounds repetitively and stand for the full shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and humidity, moderate noise, moving equipment, and required hearing protection.
  • Regular exposure to dust and process fumes within established workplace safety standards.
