Job Overview:
The Fabric Handling Assistant/Material Handler is responsible for assisting inspectors with the movement, organization, and preparation of fabric rolls to ensure smooth operations and a clean, safe work environment. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to distinguish colors accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist inspectors with handling fabric rolls to ensure efficient inspection processes.
- Movement of Equipment and Materials:
- Bring carts and A-frames to inspectors as needed.
- Pull and replace pallets from the inspection frame as required.
- Push and pull heavy A-frames full of fabric rolls.
- Work Area Maintenance:
- Keep the area around the inspection machine clean, organized, and safe to work in.
- Change poly on frames when necessary.
- Preparation and Stocking:
- Keep cores loaded in racks for inspectors’ frames to ensure a continuous workflow.
- Tie ends of rolls on pallets after they are wrapped for proper storage and transportation.
- Sample Handling:
- Carry rolls of fabric samples to their designated locations.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the inspection and fabric handling process.
Requirements:
- Ability to distinguish all colors accurately (must not be colorblind).
- Physical capability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy A-frames full of fabric rolls.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
