Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler and Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, loading, and unloading of materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks will ensure safe and accurate handling of goods, supporting seamless warehouse distribution and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to maintaining OSHA safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Perform order picking using RF scanners and pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement of materials on pallets or storage areas.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through precise materials handling and updating warehouse management systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical safety and report any maintenance needs.
  • Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock in designated areas for easy access.
  • Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company policies during all operations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in training new team members on equipment operation and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping & receiving, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and heavy lifting equipment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and pickers.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments.
  • Prior experience in construction or materials handling is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy.
