Packhouse Associate

The Packhouse Associate plays a critical role in post-harvest operations by ensuring fresh produce is properly sorted, packed, and prepared for distribution. This position supports quality control, food safety, and efficient order fulfillment in a fast-paced agricultural environment. Key Responsibilities Sort, grade, and inspect produce to ensure it meets quality standards Pack produce into cartons, clamshells, or containers according to specifications Weigh, label, and palletize finished products for shipment Assemble packaging materials and maintain organized workstations Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures Maintain cleanliness of packhouse, equipment, and work areas Assist with receiving, staging, loading, and unloading products Identify and remove damaged or defective product Report quality issues, safety concerns, or equipment problems to supervisors Work at a consistent pace to meet daily production goals (These duties reflect standard packhouse operations such as sorting, packing, labeling, and sanitation requirements.) Qualifications & Skills Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or agricultural experience preferred but not required Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks Ability to lift up to 30–50 lbs as needed Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Reliable transportation and good attendance Team-oriented with a strong work ethic Work Environment Fast-paced, production-based environment May work in varying temperatures (coolers, packing areas, or outdoor conditions) Requires standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift
