Job Summary:
The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of production associates to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes in the automotive plant. The role involves leading daily operations, driving performance metrics, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, and fostering a positive team culture aligned with organizational goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
• Lead and motivate a team of production associates to meet daily production targets.
• Conduct team huddles, assigns tasks, and monitor performance and attendance.
• Serve as a liaison between team members and management, escalating issues as necessary.
Production Operations:
• Oversee manufacturing processes on the shop floor to ensure efficiency and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust assignments to meet operational goals.
• Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting minor equipment issues.
Safety & Compliance:
• Ensure team adherence to all company safety policies, 5S, and OSHA requirements.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately and participate in investigations and corrective actions.
Quality Control:
• Support quality assurance by performing visual inspections and audits.
• Ensure nonconforming parts are identified, segregated, and reported per procedure.
Training & Development:
• Train new team members on processes, equipment, safety, and quality expectations.
• Provide coaching and feedback to enhance performance and support skill development.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or technical degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive industry experience highly preferred.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.
• Proficient in the safe and correct operation of manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Ability to read and write in English at a level sufficient to understand process sheets, product specifications, and complete product identification tags accurately.
• Competent in basic math skills to perform necessary calculations and ensure compliance with production order requirements.
• Possesses basic computer skills, with the ability to learn and use software or systems as required by the role.
