We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Weaver to operate and maintain weaving machines, repair warp and weft breaks, and monitor fabric quality while ensuring acceptable efficiency levels. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically adept, and committed to delivering high-quality textile production.
Essential Functions and Key Result Areas:
- Verify Weave Information: Confirm that the information on weave cards matches the machine setup to ensure accuracy before operation.
- Inspect Fabric Quality: Patrol assigned machines and visually inspect cloth for any off-quality occurrences.
- Repair Breaks: Promptly repair warp and weft breaks as they occur and restart machines to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot Machine Issues: Notify technicians of any machine issues impacting efficiency or product quality.
- Creel Yarn: Load and manage yarn into creel stands as needed to maintain production flow.
- Repair Crossed Warps: Correct crossed warps to ensure fabric quality and prevent defects.
- Apply BMS Codes: Accurately apply and utilize appropriate BMS codes during operations.
- Perform Assigned Tasks: Take on additional tasks as assigned to support production needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience in textile manufacturing or weaving operations (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of weaving machines and processes, including warp and weft mechanics.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Basic mechanical skills to handle machine adjustments and repairs.
- Effective communication skills to report machine or quality concerns.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- On-the-job training will be provided for candidates with minimal experience but a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while patrolling machines.
- Capable of lifting and handling heavy materials, such as yarn rolls or fabric.
- Dexterity to perform detailed repairs and adjustments on weaving machinery.
