Material Handler/Forklift operator: 12 hour shifts

The area is climate controled and clean. Although it will be hot and humid and loud. You will be working in a team setting and occasionally working alone. The smell of tobacco is strong but not overwhelming.  

 

DETAILED JOB DUTIES 

Operate forklifts, stand-up lifts, and JLG. 

Use scanners to access and update the WMS (warehouse management system). 

Duties: 
Receive schedule and instructions from the Control Room Specialist (CRS). 

Identify machine numbers, types of material, and quantity. 

Prepare and clean machines or build large boxes as needed. 

Set up and operate the portable conveyor belt; ensure CRS inspection. 

Assign products to containers and designate destinations using the scanner. 

Work as part of a team to complete the pull-out process. 

Confirm the container count with CRS and resolve discrepancies. 

Clean and store equipment; record waste amounts. 

Machine Duties: 

Confirm equipment status with CRS and review Age Summary Spreadsheet. 

Retrieve and scan product; verify product and lot number. 

Load product into equipment gradually to avoid jams. 

Clean equipment after use and log cleaning in management system

Dust Room Attendant Duties: 

Operate PIVs, scanner, and metal bander. 

Monitor and replace containers. 

Assign and weigh containers; stage appropriately. 

  • Band boxes as needed and maintain supply of empty containers. 

  • Perform weekly cleaning using JLG lift. 

  • Maintain cleanliness of the dust room. 

  • General Housekeeping: 

  • Sweep floors and mop curbs. 

  • Manage cardboard recycling. 

  • Keep containers organized and maintain a clean work area. 

 

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED 

  • PIV Equipment (Aerial Lifts, Forklift, Stand-up Lifts) 

  • Pitch forks, Brooms, Shovels, air wands and etc. 

  • Forklift 

  • Scanner and Computer 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. 

  • Must be able to climb stairs 

  • Able to reach above shoulders for tasks 

  • Stand in one position for extended periods 

  • Bend, stoop, and kneel as needed 

  • Basic math skills for inventory and quantity verification. 

  • Proficiency in operating RF scanners for product tracking and data entry.
