Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of production equipment, conveyors, machines, and surrounding work areas. Supports safe and efficient manufacturing operations by performing thorough cleaning activities, adhering to housekeeping standards, and following all safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean overhead production conveyors to maintain operational efficiency and sanitation standards.
- Sweep out industrial machines and remove residual product from trays.
- Empty unused product from machine trays into designated containers for proper handling.
- Use air hoses and other approved cleaning equipment to clean machinery and production equipment.
- Clean machines thoroughly in accordance with company procedures and production schedules.
Facility Housekeeping
- Sweep production floors at the beginning of each production run.
- Maintain cleanliness of designated work areas and surrounding production spaces.
- Move around large equipment and objects as necessary to access and clean assigned areas.
- Support overall housekeeping initiatives to maintain a safe and organized facility.
Equipment Handling
- Utilize appropriate cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Transport cleaning equipment and materials to designated locations after use.
- Inspect cleaning tools and equipment for proper working condition.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, sanitation procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing cleaning duties.
- Identify and report safety concerns, equipment issues, or sanitation risks.
- Maintain compliance with company quality and cleanliness standards.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, sanitation, janitorial, or industrial cleaning environments preferred.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment, air hoses, and sanitation tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to move around large equipment and machinery safely.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
